You're In The Right Place
The good news is, they don’t need fixing!
They might just need space to talk, breathe, untangle what’s inside their head, or find ways to deal with the stuff that’s hard.
I’m here to help them do that. Calmly. Creatively. In their way.

What to expect from Coaching Sessions
Creative
While conversation plays a key role, sessions are thoughtful, engaging, and often incorporate creative tools – particularly with children and young people – to make learning and growth feel natural, safe, and even fun.
Personal
No two people are the same, and neither are the sessions. I meet you where you are, adapting my approach to support meaningful, lasting change. Coaching built entirely around you.
Compassionate
I provide a calm, non-judgemental space, where you can reflect, explore, learn, and grow with confidence. You’ll be met with warmth, empathy, and care as you move towards your goals.
Is my child the right age for coaching?
Coaching works best for children and teens who are ready to explore their feelings, set goals, or work on specific challenges, regardless of their age or academic stage. During our initial conversation, we’ll discuss whether coaching is the right fit and what approach will suit your child’s unique needs.
How long will sessions last, and how many will my child need?
Sessions typically last 60 minutes. The number of sessions varies. Some children benefit from a short series, while others thrive with ongoing support. We’ll create a flexible plan tailored to your child’s needs and goals.
How do you ensure my child feels safe and comfortable?
Creating a safe, non-judgemental space is the top priority. Your child will always be treated with respect and empathy, and sessions are designed to be engaging, supportive, and paced according to their comfort level. Whether in-person or online, we focus on building trust from day one.
Can I as their parent/carer attend sessions? Should I?
Your child’s safety and growth are always my top priorities and it is a fine balance.
Depending on the location and your child’s needs, you may be asked to wait outside during the session. In safe spaces where your child can explore independently, stepping away often helps them build confidence and develop new skills.
If you prefer to stay, this will be discussed in advance in order that safeguarding measures and boundaries are understood and respected on all sides. For child coaching where the parent/carer is present, it is especially important for their adult to respect the coaching boundaries in order that the best use of the session is made.
Is there any homework?
In short, no or not usually. Coaching sessions are designed to be meaningful in themselves.
That said, the results your child gets often depend on what they put in. If a challenge, target, or action step is set during a session, it’s up to your child whether they follow through. Their engagement with these steps can influence the progress and outcomes they experience, helping them see the benefits of what they’ve worked on.
These sessions are relieving!
Year 6 child
I’ve changed a lot. I’ve grown in confidence because I was a lot more shy before these sessions. I started coaching when I was going through a lot in school. It made it easier when I had someone to talk to. Even if Year 6 is horrible, I can handle it now. Coaching is really good for your mind. It helps knowing that you’re having your own time with someone to help you. You would really enjoy working with Roy because he would make sure you are allowed the space and the opportunity to say what you need to. These sessions are relieving.

I feel like I’ve changed a lot from before I saw Roy for the sessions to now because back then I didn’t really want to share how I felt, and now I’m here at this point, it’s so much easier and I feel like I’ve grown in confidence. I was definitely a lot more shy before we were having these sessions.
I started coaching when I was going through a lot in school. I was going from Year 3 into Year 4. It wasn’t my best year. It made it easier to go through it when I had someone else to talk to, not just parents, and I think it really helps having people outside of your family to talk to.
With my age now, going into Year 6, I feel that your emotions are stronger and your mind and body are changing. You’re getting more emotional. It’s a big jump from Year 3 and 4 because you’re still really young then. I don’t know if anyone really expresses their emotions in those years. In year 5 and 6 you need the help to get through it without too many issues.
I don’t really know what I had in me. I felt horrible in Year 3 and what’s really helped is that I know I have grown in confidence, and even if Year 6 is horrible, I can handle it. I’ve changed. My mind and body are in the routine of becoming more organised and less stressed.
Coaching is really good for your mind, especially if you can’t get to sleep that well because the next day in school then won’t be good and you’ll be thinking about so much stuff that you won’t have time to actually talk about it. It’s good to talk to other people.
I was going through so many emotions without really realising it and I didn’t really say about it because I was keeping it inside me. I have grown in confidence. Sometimes sessions end up being on a day where you’re not feeling the best or it happens the day before something big. It helps knowing that you’re having your own time with someone else to help you. With school, the teacher can’t always stop just for you, but the highlight for me with these sessions is being free to talk.
I would say to anyone that if you have any problems or things on your mind, or you’re anxious, you would really enjoy working with Roy because he would make sure you are allowed the space and the opportunity to say what you need to.
These sessions in a word are relieving. It’s relieving to have someone by your side to help you through the weeks and the help is just enough to give me chance to think between sessions.
